01Roles
Use roles to control who can manage organization settings, users, and access.
| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Superadmin | Search users across organizations. Deactivate or reactivate user accounts. Manage trial and workspace access across organizations. |
| Admin | Manage organization settings and integrations. Manage users within their organization. Start, extend, or clear trial mode for their organization. |
| Member | Run QA and triage issues, depending on feature access. View trial status for their organization but cannot manage trial mode. |
Superadmin account-management actions apply across organizations. Admin and Member permissions stay scoped to the organization where you have access.
02Managing users
Use the user management tools to find people, review access, and update account status.
Search users across organizations
If you are a Superadmin, open user management and search by name, email, or other visible account details to find a user across organizations.

Deactivate or reactivate accounts
If you are a Superadmin, open a user record and change the account status to deactivate or reactivate access. Use deactivation when you need to pause account access without removing the user from historical records.

Admins can manage users only within their own organization. They cannot search across organizations or change account status for users outside their organization. Members cannot manage user accounts.
03Organization administration
Use organization administration settings to manage workspace-level setup and access boundaries.
- Superadmins manage user access across organizations, including account activation status.
- Admins manage organization settings and integrations for their organization, including trial mode.
- Members use the workspace features available to them but do not manage organization administration settings.
When your organization is in trial mode, Canary shows the remaining trial time in the app so everyone in the organization can see the current trial status.
Only Admins can manage trial mode for their organization. Use organization settings to start a trial, extend an active trial, or clear trial mode when the evaluation ends. If you need to manage trial access across organizations, use Superadmin tools.
04Related
For system-wide organization administration tasks that go beyond standard org-level permissions, use the Superadmin tools instead of regular organization settings. See the Superadmin reference page for dashboard access, organization management workflows, and other cross-organization administrative actions.
For organization-level settings that affect trial visibility and access during an evaluation, use organization administration settings. Admins can manage trial mode for their own organization, while members can only view the in-app trial status banner.
